Vehicle Signal Booster Installation

Vehicle boosters typically come in four parts, an outdoor antenna, indoor antenna, a power supply, and the vehicle booster itself. Installation of a vehicle booster is quite simple and can be broken down into 4 easy steps:

All lights should be either steadily flashing green or solid green. If any of them are red there was an issue with the installation. Check the connections to make sure they are snug and connected to the appropriate side. Also, check to make sure there is enough distance between antennas to prevent them from interfering with each other.

Step 1. Install the Outer Antenna

Mount the outer antenna to the outside of the vehicle. For most cars, it is recommended to be placed about 8 inches from the rear of the car. If you have a large vehicle that you’re trying to boost the signal to, such as an RV, you should install it on the rear roof. Installing this at the rear should maximize the distance away from the radio antenna that provides the signal to your car radio.

Step 2. Install the Inner Antenna

Most manufacturers recommend you install your inner antenna at the front of the vehicle either on or at the base of the windshield. If you have a larger vehicle, again like an RV, it might be best to place it where the signal is weakest.

Step 3. Install the Signal Booster

You should try and hide the signal booster in one of the corners of the car but close to the power supply. Next plug in the antenna cables into the appropriate connector. Make sure that they are secure, you’ll probably want to use a wrench to make sure they’re properly tightened.

Step 4. Power Up the Booster

Connect the booster to the cigarette lighter or another adapter to power up your booster.
